Jan 26, 2010

Just wondering if anyone ever uses this Forum.

Well, I just found this forum site.  I'd like to complement the grooming  as of 12/18-20.  I just got back from my first weekend trip to my cabin at Crescent Lake and the road conditions were the best I've been on from around the lake road and especially out to the Junction.  Of course the sled traffic was not as heavy as it's about to get.  The powder was awesome at about 2 foot on top of some base.  Hope to see you all over the holidays.  Happy New Year!

Soooooooo... do you suggest that I discontinue sending Trails Reports?  Currently I have 511 recipients of the report including Emergency Srvs. personnel, Forest Serive and members and non-members of OSSA and our club.  I like the concept of having just one location for me to put the info. but experience shows that individual reports are more effective.  In fact, some businesses print out the report and post it.  There are 2 motels that put copies on each room.  What I've been able to do is to use the reports to direct folks towards the club and OSSA too.  Since this website has been so dramatically improved, I believe that for this coming 2010-2011 season that we should use "both" the website and trails reports.  Whatcha think?   I'm not clear re: your comment... "real time reports" ????  I can't think of a better "real time" than the hotline which I frequently do while in the cat on the snow.  Please tell me what "real time" means ....  have you noted "problems" with reports in the past ?????  Your suggestions to "fix" ?????    Ben S.

I finally got signed up to use it! Whoooo Hooooo! I'd like this to be a real time update on snow conditions by next season as well as a faster way to get club ideas out to people and get more discussions going and rolling about club projects. Great job!

This is a relatively new website...or.. a better description might be that it's a substaintail re-write.  Greatly improved and with options to participate.

For info. ..... this will be the 2nd year that the club has had activities during the off-season.  We'll be doing some updates to the calendar.  Come join in....  Check out the membership section.  Either "join" or renew.  Remember that our new membership year begins July 1st so we need to renew soon!!!
